Drop GPS and camera tags by re-saving

Canvas export does not copy EXIF, IPTC or XMP. Location in those blocks is gone.

Phones embed GPS, camera model and timestamps. Sharing a “compressed” original often keeps that EXIF. This page re-encodes the pixels so those blocks are not copied. The picture can shift a little because JPEG is lossy — that is the trade for a clean file.

This is not a forensic wipe of every possible sidecar. What Canvas cannot write, it cannot leak. Check the EXIF viewer on the result if you need to confirm.

EXIF Remover runs in this browser with Canvas. The file is not uploaded to imagecropx. Close the tab and the copy in memory is gone.

How to use EXIF Remover

  1. Choose a file for EXIF Remover. It stays on this device.
  2. Set the controls for this tool (Output).
  3. Process, then download. You can add more than one file if this exif remover lists a batch cap.
