Resize a photo by pixels, in this browser
Set width and height, keep the ratio if you want, and download. Nothing is uploaded.
Most “online resizers” send the file to a server, sit on a progress bar, then hand you a compressed JPEG whether you asked for one or not. This page reads the photo in the tab, samples it to the pixels you typed, and lets you pick JPEG, PNG or WebP on the way out.
Lock aspect ratio when you only care about the long side (a 1200 px blog width). Unlock it only when a form demands both numbers and you accept stretch. “Don’t enlarge” stops a 400 px screenshot turning into a blurry 2000 px file.
Processed in your browser. Files are not uploaded.
Supported: JPG, JPEG, PNG, WEBP, GIF, BMP, HEIC. Max 25 MB, 30 files.

Pixels versus centimetres
This tool talks in pixels — what screens and most upload boxes want. For print size in cm, mm or inches at a DPI, use the dedicated print resizers. Those compute pixels from physical size; this page does not guess millimetres from a JPEG that has no real DPI tag.
If you also need a file-size cap (100 KB), resize first, then open the compressor. Doing both jobs in one mystery slider is how photos turn to mush.
How to use Image Resizer
- Choose a photo. HEIC from an iPhone is accepted as input.
- Type width and height. Leave aspect lock on unless you mean to stretch.
- Pick JPEG for photos, PNG for UI/logos. Process and download.
Questions about this tool
Do you upload my photo?
No. Resize runs on this device. The file never leaves the browser for this tool.
Will quality drop?
Resizing down usually looks fine. Re-encoding JPEG can add a little extra compression.
Will enlarging add detail?
No. Upscaling invents pixels. Prefer “don’t enlarge” unless a form forces a minimum size.
Is EXIF kept?
Canvas export drops EXIF. Use the EXIF viewer first if you need camera data, then resize.
Does Image Resizer upload the file?
No. This tool runs in the tab. See Privacy for decoder notes (HEIC, PDF.js worker).
What is the file size cap?
About 25 MB per file. Very large pixel counts are rejected so the tab stays responsive.
